Ruth is an artist based in Sheffield, Yorkshire working in video, performance, events, digital drawings, walks, installations and participatory work.

Curious and concerned by the complex systems we live by, our relationship to the natural world and the environmental and ecological crisis. She is currently exploring policy making, water cycles, farming and walking infrastructure.

Residencies and Commissions

Residencies include Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Wysing Arts Centre, Hull Time Based Arts, Braziers (Oxfordshire), Faculty of Engineering (University of Sheffield) and an Arts Council Fellowship in Colima, Mexico.

Commissions have come from Cornerhouse (Manchester), National Media Museum (Bradford), National Trust & Arts and Heritage (Cragside), BBC Radio 3 & Sound and Music, In Certain Places (Preston). She is currently working with Arts Catalyst (London) on the Test Sites series, re-thinking water governance in the Calder Catchment.


Performances, screenings and exhibited work include ICA (London), Arnolfini (Bristol), Kiasma (Helsinki), Site Gallery & Abandon Normal Devices Festival, Northern Gallery for Contemporary Art (Sunderland) with AV Festival, Dundee Contemporary Arts, Modern Art Oxford, Netwerk Centre for Contemporary Art, (Belgium), MK Gallery (Milton Keynes), Millennium Galleries (Sheffield).
